Ostia Antica

Ancient Rome's harbor

An archaeological site rivalling Pompeii, minutes away.

Ostia Antica was the ancient commercial port of Rome and today is one of the best-preserved Roman archaeological sites, often compared to Pompeii but far closer to the capital. Walking along the Decumanus Maximus you discover houses, baths, warehouses, the theatre, and the mosaics of the Piazzale delle Corporazioni, for an authentic dive into everyday ancient life. It is about 30 minutes from Rome and a perfect destination for an archaeological transfer tour, less crowded than the great monuments of the center.
